Set yourself up to succeed!

Starting the day off well-rested and in a positive frame of mind will do you a world of good. The main thing about starting your day off right is to make sure you are feeling good; physically and mentally.

Get a good night’s sleep

It can be difficult to go to bed early when you’d much rather be watching Netflix or hanging out with your friends. However, you will feel so much better in the morning if you’ve managed to get enough sleep. Try and go for seven or eight hours a night where possible.

Get up early

Take your time as you get yourself ready for the day. Enjoy your shower, enjoy your routine, enjoy the morning as much as you can and make the most of it. If spending time on your appearance makes you feel good then do it, if having an enjoyable breakfast makes you feel good, do it. These are both great things that can benefit you in many ways. Getting up early will allow you to relax as you prepare for your day as well. Spend some time preparing a breakfast that you will love. Make it fun, keep it fresh. Take some time to relax and prepare for your day. Have a tea or coffee, sit down and chill. This time is for you and there is no need to rush around.

Tidy up

Why not make your bed and tidy your room a bit? You will feel so much better when you come home at the end of the day if everything is neat and tidy. It will also feel satisfying as you have already ticked off a chore or two for the day!

Move around

Getting active is a good way to wake yourself up if you are still feeling a little groggy. The gym is an option or a walk to enjoy the fresh morning air. Even keeping active within your home is great, if you sit down for too long after waking up you will remain sleepy and unmotivated. So, get up, make your breakfast and keep yourself moving every so often until you have to leave.

Organise yourself

If you get up earlier it gives you some time to organise yourself and finish off those little things you should have done already such as homework or reading. You can plan your day a bit or make some decisions to save you time later in the day.

Such simple and small things can make your day so much better, let’s be honest, if you start the day in a bad mood it is very difficult to get yourself out of it. Taking small steps to make your morning is great will benefit you for the entire day, try it out and see for yourself!
